Milton Berle - An All-Star Tribute To Mr. Television (DVD) Milton Berle, also known as Uncle Miltie, became one of America`s first television stars with his own blend of irreverent Vaudeville-influence comic stylings. When his Texaco Star Theatre program premiered on NBC in 1948, less than half a million Americans owned televisions. By 1950, Berle had over two million viewers.
